Ovi.com

Wanted a fail, you got it :(

Hey, here is a very big fail in Ovi, all I want is “Worms HD” from the Ovi store, looks like Canada can’t play with worms…

:/

I though we are over this regions crap thingy… guess not, wow…

Ovi.com alreasy supports Nokia N8 !

Good new out there, Ovi.com already supports the not released yet Nokia N8.
On the bad side… still no N900 support.

Discussion

Symbian-Guru.com Is “Game Over” :(

Yesterday we lost another soldier of Nokia to Goggle’s Android, Ricky Cadden.
Ricky of Symbian-Guru.com decided to stop blogging and supporting Nokia, This is very sad since he was a great deal of sources and info about Nokia.

I agree with most of the things Ricky writes on hes “fare well” post to Symbian-Guru.com, Nokia is in big trouble in north America and has almost zero market share here (I’m in Vancouver, Canada) and almost zero effort is being put to change that, web services are also kind of a bad things since not much works there (Talking about Ovi, except Ovi files, which I use a lot and I’m sure doesn’t work for someone somewhere else) .

I do hope that the  real fight that starts now will change things.

One thing I do not agree at all with Ricky is about the hardware, Nokia is one of the best hardware manufactures in the world. Hardware was never Nokia’s problem, the problem Nokia always had is software, if its web services or cellphone OSs.
Today (and in the next year) with Symbian ^3/4 and Meego, I do hope it will get better :) , me being a proud owner of a Maemo 5 powered device (N900) I can see its going in the right direction.
Nokia, I still love you :-)

Goodbye Ricky, it was a pleasure reading your Symbian blog and good luck in your regular tech blog.

Ovi.com now supports the E75 !

Hi,

Yes, yes, at last Ovi.com added support to the amazing E75 ( I also think the support for the N97 is new, not sure).
It took them a while but its here….I wrote about it before but glad to see its been changed.

New firmware update for the E75

Hi all.

According to zomgitscj there is a new firmware update for the E75, of course, I went and checked it out, since I have a Euro version of it I knew I’ll have the update and I did :) .
alsiladka
said that the tap&turning controls are gone from the settings and they are!, what the hell ?!?.
Another thing I noticed was that when you open the QWERTY the zero button doesn’t lunch the web anymore, yes, you could have done it before the update.
Ovi store is still not integrated in the device.
Yahoo mail is still not working, like I wrote before.
I noticed that when you get a new email and pressing the icon on the home screen, it doesn’t take you to the email itself, like before, it takes you to the receiving mail box.

That is it for now, didnt see anything else… for now :) .

Ovi store available in Canada… well, kind of…

Hi.

According to All about symbian you can now download the Ovi store application directly from the online Ovi store’s website, when running it from you’re mobile.
So, when you think of it.. we got it here in Canada… in a way..
On my E75, in Download!, the actual Ovi store client doesn’t show yet, that means that Nokia hasn’t finished updating all the regions, very annoying.

ovistorefail

Ovi store in Canada, sure, why not.

Of course, that didn’t happen yet, why would it….
I just tried both my E75 & E71 with refreshing content in ‘Download!’ and nothing, no Ovi store yet.

Come on Nokia, we want Ovi Store up here.

Ovi.com fails again…

Hi all.

This is the 2nd’ time it happens to me, I get a new device and Ovi just doesn’t support it yet, it happened with the xPressMusic 5800, I had to wait about 2 months till it appears in the device list and now, once again, I need to wait till I’ll see the E75.
Till than I just can not sync and I do not want to “try” and using the settings from a different device.
I want to see a device on Ovi even before its being sold all over the world… too much to ask ?, not sure.
